TOMORROW THEATER

_TomorrowThtr 006_19.2 MB.jpg

Formally known as the Oregon Theater, a mixed-use building constructed in 1924 underwent a remarkable transformation to adapt to modern times. The building previously contained a theater, two retail spaces facing the street, and two apartments on the second floor. Quisa worked with Guerrilla Development to manage the CA on the apartments and designed one of the retail spaces into a lively bar.

Quisa worked closely with the Portland Art Museum to ensure that the theater was fully functional again. Some major design elements were a concession stand room, a structurally sound movie screen, a renovated projector room, and a redesigned second-floor theater space that maximizes restroom capacity with a gender-neutral layout. The Tomorrow Theater, operated by PAM CUT, hosts diverse mixed-media art events, significantly contributing to the surrounding community's revitalization.
